Wool Stroller Blanket

I never thought I’d need a stroller blanket, but lo and behold, I did. Luckily, my friend Leah (of SpiderFelt fame) had an idea for making one. Check it out:

Isn’t it swoonable? I heart the colors! And the best part, of course, is that I am 100% confident that baby is toasty warm. Wool felt is awesome.

In case anyone is curious, the felt is really thick — I’m not entirely sure how Leah makes it but it’s supple yet sturdy. There’s a zipper up one side and it is sewn up the other (didn’t see a need to complicate things). The bag isn’t joined on the bottom. The top is folded under so that there’s a pocket to keep toes toasty, or if their feet are muddy they can stick out the bottom and not muddy up the blanket. Good idea, yes? (It’s not mine — I was considering one of these.)

I routinely get compliments on this whenever we’re out. It sure doesn’t look like anything else out there. I love it!

Boo hasn’t tried it yet — he’s into biking now. Last time we were out, we were our very own wagon train. Baby in the stroller and Boo behind pulled behind on his bike. Better than having them fight over the stroller, I guess, or worse, pushing them both PLUS the bike! I’ve done it. Pulling is preferable. (And yes, I could carry the baby, and there’s always a sling underneath just in case. But my back thanks me for pushing, I promise.)

Big thanks to Leah for the genius in wool felt creations and making my dreams a reality. I have a warm, happy baby who gives big thanks too!
